Pastor Donald Roe Biography & Schedule
Pastor Don Roe has served as a youth pastor while in Seminary, and since then has been a senior pastor of four churches. His last pastoral ministry (for nine years) was at the church where he was saved. During his years in the pastorate, he traveled to Togo, West Africa three times and taught several courses to national pastors there. Along the way, he has provided pulpit supply and interim pastoral coverage for a variety of churches. He has also taught high school Bible in the Christian Schools sponsored by the churches he pastored.
In addition to pastoral ministry, Pastor Roe served for two years as an Assistant Professor of Bible and Theology at BBC&S. He has earned a B.S. In Bible from BBC&S and a M.Div. from Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary.
Don is 51. Last August, the Lord took Don’s wife Leisa home to heaven. Don and Leisa had been married nearly 30 years. He has a son (Gavin, 15) and a daughter (Hannah, 11). The family has lived in the area for the last three years.
Pastor Roe summarizes his ministry philosophy by saying, "I see the role of pastor as equipping believers to do the work of the ministry, maturing them to the stature of Christ (Eph. 4:11-16). The primary means for this is the Word of God in an expository pulpit and intentional discipleship ministry. This alone is inadequate. His role is also to be a model of love to the church and others as he uses the message of grace to comfort and reach into the world for Christ."
