Summit's Core Values
In our desire to reflect God’s light as a Biblical community we value the following.
- We value the Bible …
We are committed to the preaching and teaching of God’s inspired Word
that is relevant to the needs of all people and essential to equipping
Christians to follow Christ in every aspect of life. (2 Timothy
3:16-17; 4:2; Ephesians 4:11-12)
- We value relationships …
We love people because God loves people. We are committed to
creating/fostering community within the church family. (I Thessalonians
4:9; John 13:34-35)
- We value community outreach …
We believe in seizing every opportunity individually and corporately to
show and tell the love of Christ in the power of the Spirit to our
community. (I Corinthians 2:4-5; Matthew 28:19-20)
- We value world missions …
We believe in preparing, sending, and partnering with other believers
to show and tell the love of Christ in the power of the Spirit to make
disciples throughout the whole world. (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8)
- We value worship … We are committed to gathering together to exalt God by worshipping Him in spirit and in truth. (Psalm 95:1-7; John 4:24)
- We value prayer …
We believe prayer is crucial and reflects a dependent relationship with
God, which fosters obedience and sustains our spiritual health. (Luke
18:1, I Thessalonians 5:17-18)
- We value service …
We are committed to maintaining common faith within the body, and are
committed to ministry as a team by equipping and empowering every
member to identify and use his or her spiritual gifts in the building
up of the body of Christ. (Ephesians 4:11-16; I Peter 4:10-11; John
17:21-24; I Corinthians 12:12-26)
