What is Alpha?

Alpha is a series of interactive sessions that freely explore the basics of the Christian faith.

Who is Alpha for?

Alpha is for anyone who’s curious. The talks are designed to encourage conversation and explore the basics of the Christian faith in a friendly, open and informal environment. No question is out of bounds and you are free to discuss as much or as little as you wish.

How does it work?

Alpha is ten sessions with the option of a day or weekend away in the middle. Each session includes food, a short talk and a discussion at the end where you can share your thoughts. At any point, if you think Alpha isn’t for you, that’s not a problem. There’s no pressure, no follow up and no charge.

Common Questions

Every night can be described with 3 D’s

  1. Dinner
  2. DVD
  3. Discussion

Dinner is provided by us at no charge to you. You will have an opportunity to talk and get to know other people with various backgrounds.

The DVD is a 30 minute thought provoking video. Nicky Gumbel, the presenter, is very conversational and well spoken. He presents the basics of his beliefs and the Christian faith without being confrontational. By the end of the 10 weeks you will feel like you know him.

Discussion is when we divide into small groups and just talk about what we watched in a judgement free area. You can say what you really think and we won’t tell you your wrong or try to make you change.

Yes! At the same time that the adults are meeting, the kids (age 4-12) will be doing their own activity with singing, crafts, games, etc.

Babies and Toddlers will have separate activities

Absolutely nothing. It’s a gift from us to you.

If you really want to help cover the cost of the meal, every week there will be a small baskets for donations setup but that is completely optional.

As much as we would love for anyone to attend our services we have no expectations that you will begin to attend Sunday services nor will we ever pressure you into doing that.

That’s o.k. We know that everyone’s schedule can be crazy so we encourage you to  come when you can. If you want to catch up on what you missed your group leader will be happy to assist you.
